Won't go out until 30 days prior. there are still a few folks out on furlough bypass and those folks have up until 30 days prior to any class to contact United and say they want to return.

Thanks for the info, I'm waiting patiently and hoping for an invite to start class soon!

Do you have to finish IOE before swapping bases or can you do it while still in training g? Thanks.

No limit.

From a practical standpoint, new-hires need to have accounts setup in the computer system to enter bids and this usually occurs in the first couple days of indoc.

And a vacancy bid "effective date" is typically several months in the future so even if a new-hire is awarded a different base on the first day, it's possible that one could finish training, complete IOE, and fly a month (or more) in the original base before going to the new base.

Indoc for me in 2015 started on Monday the vacancy bid closed out that Friday where I swapped from Newark airbus to DC 75. I actually had to do all of my Airbus training IOE and fly one trip on the line before I was activated on the 75. However it was all a good experience.

Activation to new base can also take a significant amount of time. Laterals from the Feb bid are being told as late as September.
