Which aircraft typically has longer legs? 320 or 737?

737 typically. The current crop of Airbii on property aren’t ETOPs and all but a few aren’t overwater.

True but that doesn’t mean the Airbus doesn’t have the legs to do longer flights. Lack of ETOP’s or overwater just limits what routes. Plenty of transcons and it used to do the Carribbean prior to the 737 taking it all over.

Right. It’s just one of the reasons we don’t do those longer routes apart from the transcons. No HI, no deep Caribbean or SA.

They just selected. The bottom 17 pilots all got 756 in any base they wanted.

Interesting times indeed. I wonder when those unfilled 777 and 787 FOs will be assigned to new hires? I heard starting in January.

Today’s drop had a ton of 756. I’ll take any aircraft I can just to get EWR. I live about 3 hours from EWR. What can one expect for QOL on the 756 out of Newark? I’ve read reserve time is about 2 years but what is reserve like in this aircraft? Mostly long call? Short call?

My second thought…would it be better to take a a slot in another base on the airbus or 737 and hope I can base trade to EWR before training is complete?

i don’t think you will have any trouble getting ewr in class. Over 300 unfilled vacancies in the last snapshot covering every fleet.

you’ll get EWR on day 1. I would take 756. I’ve heard it’s some of the best flying. Not sure how long to get off rsv compared to other fleets

Given current pace of hiring, reserve times are hard to predict. 75 certainly >>737/320
