UAL is adding classes for summer/fall. 2 in June. 1 in July, August, September, October each with possibly more. Hiring instructors as well.

Which is why trying to figure out which airline to go to based on hiring at the moment is a big mistake. Someone was just on here a few months ago explaining how he took a class date at Delta over United because they were hiring more and he’d move up faster, but now that’s stopped and turns out short-term he’d have been better off coming here.

Oh well.

And delta just announced they are cancelling some due to overstaffing! And offered up over 500 stay at home and don’t work leaves. Lol. But, but, but, why weren’t we hiring like delta the last 1 yr....the sky must be falling at United!

Remember the guy that came on here and ranted in December that he wanted to come to United but Delta offered him a class date two whole months ahead of United, so when United called for a January class date he turned us down.

You think that guy is wondering if that was a smart move?

I've been telling people all you need to do is look at the numbers. Number of furlough returns, pilot block hour utilization, and ASM growth at the mainline. Instead everyone wants to get hung up on the actual new hires in class number. Mgmt has done exactly what they telegraphed in late 2016, and late 2017.

If delta has any hiccup getting those c series online, I'm guessing it's going to get worse before it gets better for the bottom 5% there. Look at how much seniority list expansion has happened there since 2014. Foolish to believe that music would keep playing forever. They are now dependent on retirements for the progression. As long as Kirby follows through (and i believe he will because the bottom line, net eps, needs scale to improve...Oh, and he needs to prove his worth so he can take over for Oscar), I think we have 2-3k organic list growth ahead of us.

I’m not sure how that worked Fanatical flyer made it sound like they could pick from everything open......which is a departure from the way we used to do it.
