New Hire Classes and Drops
#261
The 8-ball is the youngest, and therefor the most junior, new hire in class.
His/her bid was the last remaining after everyone else had bid. It is by definition the most junior position in the company, at least until the next class.

Change??
Do they still give the 8 ball, the 8 ball to hold until the next class? I thought I heard someone objected to having to guard it so they stopped it. Too bad if so. I know our class really enjoyed that tradition. We stole the baby class' 8 ball and made them buy the pizza and beer on Friday to return it.

Be interesting to see if the next vacancy bid is out around the 2nd or 3rd of July, which would allow the folks in the 10 July class to bid before it closes? That would allow the two June classes and the July class to get a chance at laterals or upgrades before going into the heavy training expected this Fall and Winter.
