United Airlines September Job Fair

Just curious if anyone has gotten the invite yet?

If you have, would you mind posting your quals/stats?

AP

deltajuliet 07-07-2018 06:26 AM

Was it ever confirmed beyond the Facebook image that got reposted here?

If it is real, the publication stated invites would go out “by the end of July.”

blizzue 07-07-2018 07:02 AM

Invites to be sent by end of this month.

Sike 07-07-2018 08:07 AM

Is there a sign up process for this, or do you just have to have an active application profile?

No sign-up process. Top airlineapps subjects get the invites.

BobbyLeeSwagger 07-07-2018 09:27 AM

Fingers crossed. Just got an app makeover at Cage for this job fair

AeroCrewSolut 07-07-2018 04:50 PM

Invites should go out in 16 days. 600 attendees over a 2 day period.

deltajuliet 07-07-2018 07:55 PM

Is it possible United would weigh in “attendance” at your virtual job fair, or is that purely informational?

The virtual job fair for United is informational only. After United's presentation, recruiters will answer questions for 1 hour at their booth. The event is free to attend and if you miss it you can watch the presentation later.

Anyone get a call for this yet?

Ha I was just checking this forum to see if anyone got the shoulder tap. Not me, aerocrew said July 23rd but I doubt they go out all at once.

Naaay 07-20-2018 01:04 PM

Patiently checking my e-mail 20 times a day....

Are these job fairs sort of "irrelevant" now a days? What's the reason for having them? All of the pertinent info is available on the internet.... Just curious.

You can ask direct, personal questions that may only be pertinent to you. And sometimes direct from the horses mouth is better than hearsay.

Do these job fairs cost money?

YES! Save your money. These are just money makers for the people that run them. Complete waste of money and time. People wake up!

That's what I was thinking. If someone wants to ask a direct personal question they just need to pick up the phone and call HR at Airline X, Y, or Z, or call a friend working there.

Those job fairs should be paying the prospective pilots to come and show up. Without pilots showing up, the job fair doesn't mean anything anyway. No audience. The dynamics have changed.....It's a pilots market now.

glassnpowder98 07-21-2018 08:04 AM

The upcoming job fair in September is in house for United and they are selecting 600 pilots from airline apps to attend, essentially pre interviewing those applicants who would have gotten their apps pulled anyways. If you consider hiring projections of ~800 pilots (I know they haven’t hired close to their goal in years...), getting the invite to this fair is a pretty big deal. Furthermore probably 40-50% of new hires at United will come from CPP agreements at express carriers, I would imagine a large chunk of the remaining interview invites for 2019 will come from this job fair.

Our job fairs are free for pilots and you do not need to be a member in order to attend. By attending you can get information directly from recruiters and ask questions if needed.

Recruiters like to attend because it cuts down on their recruting costs. Pilots like it because you save time and money. Even if you don’t get the day off you are still able to attend.

Is this event held by United or Aero Crew?

blizzue 07-23-2018 11:09 AM

United

....

armypilot 07-23-2018 11:11 AM

Invites are starting to go out. I haven’t gotten one but a buddy of mine just did.

Falcondrivr 07-23-2018 11:15 AM

Anyone care to guess how many points this will add to one's application score?

blizzue 07-23-2018 11:19 AM

"there is no score."

deltajuliet 07-23-2018 11:30 AM

And yet, “nothing takes away points, only adds.”

Surely going to this puts you on the short list.

This the ‘game’. If this gets you hired just one class earlier the trip is paid for.

bryans219 07-23-2018 11:38 AM

If one is to get an invite, would it be from a United email address?

I’ve always been curious about this too, I’m terrified that I’m going to get an invite is going to go to my junk mail and I’ll miss it. But sounds like emails went out about 2 hours ago. Congrats to all those that got them

It came from AeroCrewSolutions.

AeroCrewSolut 07-23-2018 12:18 PM

Emails went sent out 3 hours ago. The email invite will come from an Eventbrite.com email address.

Legacy500 07-23-2018 12:19 PM

Just got the invite. I am really looking forward to this event!

Squallrider 07-23-2018 12:35 PM

I got a invite too. 600 attendees, is that 300 military and 300 civilian?

Got the invite on my commute home...had to chose between hanging up on CS (was still five in line) and not getting released or signing up...I stayed on the phone but I also just got my slot. Looks like I'll have to bid a CNO line just to lock this down.
