Still checking my email)) Congrats to all who got the invite! Sounds like upon successfully completing the Hogan we are looking at late Oct. or early Nov interviews. I suspect a good majority of attendees will get the Hogan test at some point. And, my guess is the same as the previous post: TBNT letters would be based on a post Hogan assessment, if there are any.

Yea they wouldn’t send “top applicants” a tbnt based on a few minutes I don’t think

Please don’t worry if you didn’t receive the Hogan this week or next. It is going to take time to go through the entire list. I expect it is going to take the entire month of October.

How about getting the “please be patient email”? If we haven’t received that one yet does that mean we are out of the running for a Hogan? Thanks!

Yes I’d pay money to know that myself. I thought mine went really well and I was a bit shocked I didn’t get anything but the survey request

You’re posting an awful lot of personally identifying information on a public website. Might want to go radio silent until your last day of probabtion (should it all work out). Just a thought.

Thanks for sharing and best of luck to you. :)

I'm not exactly sure what the previous post alluded to, but so far I have not read anything too revealing or even remotely compromising in your eagerness to share the enthusiasm of getting hired at United.

If I were HR, I'd easily recognize that this entire 'public forum' is geared to do exactly that...which is to share in the excitement and collective success of all who attended. So, if you wish to share the fact that you received the Hogan, and got called, more power to you. Now, as far the details of your interview and the Hogan, that's a different story.

How is someone from the outside looking in supposed to know what the culture is like without seeing it. Even being told from someone on the inside isn't really enough. Working at a United Express airline for a decade doesn't even do it justice. Second is the fact that there are some people out there with great resumes but zero interpersonal skills that they need to weed out.

The United culture is a moving target and we are about to replace half of our pilots within the next 10 years so they care about who they reshape the culture with. They want people to understand the airline and to protect what we have here. We don't care what color your tie is or how much of a nerd you are as long as you can shine yourself up and be friendly for a few hours... which is the majority of our job.

This isn't Delta and if you ever get the chance to interview at another airline or have in the past you will see an immediate difference in their culture. We have the most women as a % of our pilot group of any airline. Almost double that of Delta and American. The good ol boy club died a lot longer ago here. We have more widebodies covering more of the planet than our domestic competition. Our union is very much involved with almost every aspect of our company. It also has a history book worth of contentious issues from the past. I think it will make us stronger with future market turmoil and stopping our board and management from making short term gains at the expense of long term profitability (scope.)

If you are qualified and capable they really do want you and they want you to feel like you have some sense of us before you decide. Good luck!

Just going out the door after 35 years and being personally acquainted with some of the HR pilot hiring folks here I would say Aquaticus is spot on. I wish you all the best of luck in your career endeavors.

Did we ever get a answer if you didn’t get the second email after job fair (not the survey) if that meant you didn’t make the cut?

Thank you Triple, my thoughts exactly. We are all here to support each other. I did not think I was being careless with my postings. I just merely wanted to let others who attended the event know that there is hope for all of us. But, as you can see, some differ in that opinion, which is fine. Regardless, I hope this doesn’t turn into a whole discussion about what to post or what not. In the end, it is up to the individual how much they want to share or not share, as long as it is respectful, and thoughtful, of course.
Again, thank you for the good wishes, I will continue to [carefully] post the progress so that others may benefit from my experience on what to expect. Thanks!

Don’t listen to Winston. You’ve been incredibly positive in every post you’ve made on here. If HR/hiring department really give a flip and stalked you on here I think they would see that you have been very excited about the opportunity and have been equally supportive to the other pilots that joined you at that job fair. Basically you come off like a good guy that really wants to work here. Many guys have done A LOT worse on here and still got hired.

Thank you for the kind words. I am looking forward to joining the team. I feel that we should all be helping and supporting each other, it’s just the right thing to do, specially since this is such a small industry. Thanks again!

You bring up an interesting point of am vs pm folks. I was a pm guy (civilian) but no email yet. Any afternoon guys/gals on here with an email?

Thanks

Max300 10-11-2018 02:18 PM

I know of 1 person that attended Wednesday PM. The Hogan was offered and taken as of last week.

I guess a ‘be patient’ email would simply have the calming effect we all need at this point. Still impatiently checking my email to be more patient ))))
