I think a few internals and some from your current and past colleagues/employers is ideal.

So I’m guessing those of us who didn’t receive an invitation to the fair won’t be hearing anything anytime too soon then. Any idea if they’ll be having another mil pilot recruiting event in the near future?

The Hiring Expo will probably fill interview dates for the rest of the year (my opinion). If your application score is high enough, you still may be called in to interview. There may be additional classes announced in the future which will require additional interviews. The next Hiring Expo will probably be in September. United will be attending NGPA, WAI, and OBAP for 2019.

United will also be attending the Aero Crew Solutions virtual job fair on Friday, October 26th. https://aerocrewsolutions.vfairs.com

Got the Hogan last night!

I’ve got a buddy who attended the civilian day and received his Hogan link last night as well. He previously got the “We were excited to meet you” email last Thursday.

FWIW, it’s his second time around: he busted his last interview about a year and a half ago. Had a second chief pilot meet and greet in May.

At least they seem to be coming out still and aerocrews opinion was that it would keep doing so for a while. Just wish I knew the method to the madness all things being equal.

I wouldn't say that at all! That fair is not the end all be all "foot in door." People were getting invites up to just prior to the fair. IMO it's just another job fair to place in your application. Granted a high visibility one. Curious what the current stats of Hogan invites to those that didn't attend the fair.

The thing that set this job fair apart was the fact that you were invited based on your app, that being said I’m sure ppl are getting invited to hogan without going

As far as the method, it’s points. I would guess that we got x points for attending, and x+y points with your recruiter’s rec. Hogies go out in points order as they always have.

I attended the Thursday morning job fair. Be patient email last week followed by the Hogan email 5 days later. Now nervously awaiting the results :o. Availability is April 2019.

Will they be attending in a traditional sense like they used to? AKA get a fast past and actually speak to a recruiter/pilot . Or will it simply be a group of United “Reps” who won’t take your resume and have absolutely zero pull for getting an interview and will just tell you how great of a place it is to work.

I got the invite September 24th, accepted it the next day and have not heard anything back. Deadline to reply is October 26th, has anyone heard anything back that plans on attending? Or is it just backed up and be patient?

September Fair attendee, took the Hogan last Friday and have not seen or heard anything since. Can anyone speak to their time frame they waited for a response after taking it recently? Thanks.

I’d be surprised if you didn’t hear back come the weekend. From what I gather it seems to be about a week for a response.

I’m guessing by the lack of response from my previous question the pay for jobs fairs would be a waste of time as suspected. Just a bunch of United reps telling me I should work here but no actual recruiters or pilots with any real pull.

Hard to say. On the addendum section they have a box you can check for attending either one. So I wouldn’t completely discount it. I’ve done both and I’m still waiting. It would be nice if they just addressed all of us who attended with that infamous email to be more patient...or simply tell us: thanks but no thanks. Very eager :-) especially when it’s been exactly a month today since the event.

On another note, I wonder how many interviews are being conducted from those who attended the job fair vs those that haven’t? That would certainly slow things down quite a bit. Wish we had more info..

It appears no one on this thread received the “be patient“ email this week or the Hogan invite. Either the United hiring team is backed up and needs a week to catch up or anyone who got the “be patient” email is not on this thread.

I'd hate to receive the tbnt but it would keep me from obsessively checking my email. :p

In my opinion of what they said at the expo, we won’t be getting a TBNT email. United said several times we were their top candidates and we were there for a reason. So did our one on one recruiter. I believe them and take them for their word. But there’s over 500 of us and it may take 2, 3 or 4 months.
