Yet since the merger we’ve added over 2k pilots and somehow reserves CAs on the narrowbody I fly are now complaining about being used well over guarantee month after month. You don’t have to drink the kool aid to know things aren’t too bad for the moment.

Added over 2K pilots? In what respect? We were at 12,500 pilots at merger. We are at 12,500 pilots now. We fluctuate between about 12,000 and 12,700 is about the highest I've seen it. Right now we are on an upward vector but we've never broken 13,000 pilots since the merger.

DL was at 12,500 at their merger. They are now at 14,500 and still growing. American was at 14,500 at their merger.

We have not grown...yet.

Growth is shrinking 10 seats in SFO and growing 10 in DEN. VOILA growth. We grew. Yeah us.

We didn’t have 12,500 “active” pilots when the merger happened. Between CAL and UAL there were 1600 furloughees. So you’re measuring “growth” strictly by looking at the seniority list, even though we have more planes, flights and block hours.

Cool story.

Just curious, do furloughees show up on the seniority list while they are furloughed? Is so do they show up as "LTA"s?

You can subtract 148 pilots from that number as CAL pilots had already been recalled as of the merger date.

Recalled but not on property on October 1st. So they were still on furlough.

I think what you are trying to say is they weren’t “active”. But they/we had been recalled and were not considered furloughed on October 10th.

Anybody know how many 757,767, and 747’s have been parked since 2012?

Active UA pilot headcount (SSC reports)

11,107 (11/18) - 10,188 (11/13) = 919 more active pilots than five years ago.
