This is a separate process than them writing me a LOR through the UA addendum, right? Do they physically take a resume to a CP office? Or submit something online? Sorry for the questions but just want to know exactly how to ask a friend or two if they can do this for me.

thank you!

My buddy at UA received a base email soliciting resumes to be considered for meet and greets with the chief. He knew I was trying to get on and sent me a screen shot of the message. I forwarded a resume to him and he sent it to the base admin. A couple weeks later they responded with a date, time, and location. Very streamlined process and an altogether great experience. Another friend ran into the CP shortly after the meeting and was told I was “good to go.” Hopefully It results in a Hogan invite one of these days. After the first month I quit obsessively checking my email and now it’s just a lingering hope in the back of my mind.

*I do feel slightly better knowing that there are others out there still waiting. For now, I’ll just keep updating and hoping for the best.

Not sure if this currently holds true, but for what it's worth, I had my meet and greet in early October of 2018 and received the interview invite in mid-February 2019. So at least back then there was a few months of lag time. With current hiring, I expect that's still the case or possibly a little longer.

I took a highly qualified candidate in to a meet and greet a month and a half ago. He got the Hogan email 3 weeks later as a data point.

The CP office will review resumes (electronic) and select qualified candidates for a meet and greet. The sponsor is asked to come with the candidate if able for a conversation. My understanding after that is the candidate’s profile is updated to be given points comparable to meeting the recruiting team at OBAP, WIA etc. Getting selected for a meet and greet is separate and in addition to a LOR.

Whatever the magic number of points to get the Hogan invite is, it seems like the meet and greet puts some folks over that threshold and others closer to it. I imagine the CP email to HR has to be pretty heavily weighted, so if it hasn't triggered an invite yet, then the addition of flight time, a new position, rating, etc would trigger something. That could explain the different wait times from meet and greet to Hogan. Just my .02 from asking around.

Elaborate on that one! Is Larry an E-2 fan boy or something?

Hey guys, great information throughout the thread! Can anyone provide any detail specific to the SFO meet & greet process or perhaps a little about the Chief Pilot?

Cheers!

How do you get an invite for a meet and greet?

Start by asking your buddy who is at UAL.
