Welcome to the machine. You will most likely be off of probation and eligible to vote on the next contract. Get through training, keep your nose clean while on probation, and enjoy a pretty good ride. There will be plenty of time to think about union and contract stuff when you get to the line.

Thou shall not make future decisions based on rumor. Sorry, eventually we'll have a new contract. We'll get one when our MEC and NC get a beneficial TA for our pilot group. Whenever that is! We're in no rush!!!

I did notice a few things of interest in reading the Delta MEC Chairman's update...
1. They have scope violations. I believe 22 in total.
2. They are about to start section 6.
I was surprised to see that Delta was having issues with their scope language and Management violations of it. I recall the Continental Scope language was very tight. CAL management tried to violate it a few times, I think 3. All 3 times they got hammered pretty quick. Hope we get some really good and bullet proof scope language in our next contract.

So we can scope clause all we want, but then we give away that flying in a code share and nobody blinks.

Are there any plans for the NC to put out an update on the status of negotiations each week? That would be most informative to help the pilots stay informed and preclude them from having so many phone calls to reps. 12,000 phone calls a week to a handful of reps might get to be a bit much.
