For the thread title of no reserves ie. no long and no short calls, if it makes it to add pay, agreed.
Maybe it's because my fleet/seat/dom is better staffed but usually there is a short call/field standby
they can find and that reserve Captain can lose 3hrs. pay or ~$900 per month of SC MPG pay.
Hopefully (supposedly) this is being addressed in the new contract per my reps. (and they're not at TK) :)

Grab it when the PP gets to the % that makes you happy... 50, 75, 100... whatever.

Which is a perfect segway into another issue. Why, when we demand total transparency from the company, do we allow our own to hide schedules from each other? Oh, that’s right, all those stalking flight attendants.

I honestly don’t get the concept of allowing everyone’s schedules to be seen. We are hiring like crazy, nobody is on furlough, why do you feel the need to harass guys that want to make money? For every guy that flies 100hrs, there’s one that does 40, just let it go.

It's not to harass the ones making money, it's to identify the very small minority playing games with the crew desk. (Yeah, it happens.) Sunshine is the best disinfectant.

Trust but verify.

Actually, you could fly one trip, get 10hrs add pay, and never fly again that month and break MPG. How are you figuring 14 or 15 days? Add pay is add pay, it goes on top.

No one is disputing that...merely saying that flying on days off as a reserve at DAL pays more than at UAL. It is essentially 100% add pay there if I'm reading this thread correctly.

Re-read previous posts. That’s exactly what is being disputed by saying you need to still work 14-15 days at united in order to break guarantee. Some people don’t understand how add pay works. And while everyone has such a hard on for wanting to copy everything Delta has, it’s not always better. Delta also can’t drop every trip and do nothing but pick up premium, they have to get back to line value first. We have the ability to never ever have to fly a straight time trip. But again, you guys just wanna automatically copy Delta without even knowing how our respective systems even work.

Please enlighten us on these "games". I have wacky hunch (zero proof) that the schedulers do "interesting" things, but haven't heard of pilots doing anything outside the UPA. Are you certain of anything unethical or outside the UPA by pilots? If so, what did your PDR response consist of?

Okay so I re-read the applicable posts and while you are correct in your assertion that an UAL reserve does not need to break MPG to make extra money, the DAL system pays twice as much for flying on your days off as a reserve. I don't have a chub for all things DAL, but I would prefer to get paid more for flying on my off days. Wouldn't you?

Are you sure that the 100% extra pay at DAL is “add pay”? If they fly 1, 8 hour trip on a day off, and never touch an airplane for the rest of the month, do they get paid MPG + 8?

from my understanding yes. they get straight time on top of gaurentee plus a day off of their choice if they greenslip on reserve on a day off ( im not delta but jumpseat often and have a few friends there)
