In 50% of DVT, the first symptom is death. You guys and girls shouldn't be messing around with this. Fat, thin, young, old they are cheap, comfortable protection against losing your life to deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism.

Getting up and moving around is not sufficient protection against this.
Are you a compression sock salesman for your side hussle?

I fly long haul international, 8 hours is a short leg for us. My feet freeze every flight (I think mainly because my feet sweat and then get cold) Anybody know if compression socks help with that, maybe improve circulation in the extremities?

The average foot sweats 4 oz per day and can sweat as much as 8 oz. Get yourself some moisture wicking socks made of high quality fabric. Maybe you can find moisture wicking compression socks and cover all your bases. Truthfully I think the compression socks are overkill. The number one way to prevent DVT is proper hydration. That not only keeps the blood vessels healthy, it has the added benefit of making is move around every couple hours.

My wife's physicians would disagree with you.

Dehydration is neither causal, nor something that prevents DVT.

“ Water is important for healthy veins
Dehydration is a leading cause of DVT because it may cause your blood to thicken and clot. To help prevent blood clots, it is important to drink 8 ounces of water every 2 hours throughout the day. Water is responsible for many important functions, like circulation and transportation of nutrients throughout the body.”

Any financial advice to go along with this?

Drink water like it’s going out of style.

When you’re in the seat and not on break, keep your feet up on the panel footrests (at least that’s what I think they are) as much as possible.

When you’re on break, be horizontal or otherwise put your feet up as much as you can.

Rudolph Virchow described three conditions that predispose to thrombus, the so-called Virchow’s triad. This triad includes endothelial injury, stasis or turbulence of blood flow, and blood hypercoagulability.

Dehydration isn't the main cause of hypercoagulibilty. But since you've made the claim, how about posting a link to some peer reviewed science instead of some website?
