The only other choice in my neck of the woods, was compass. I made my decision based on likelihood of survival during a downturn. At 1500 hrs beggars can't be choosers. I never imagined the sentiment between SKW and UAL would be so co-dependant/adversarial. UAL employed a family member since the late 70s, so I had nothing but admiration.

Don’t worry, UA hires more SkyWest guys then probably any other regional and have for decades. 99% don’t have anything against SkyWest pilots. Jumpseat thing was gay but most know it was limited to a few idiots and no one gives 2 turds about it in the hiring department. I also tried to get ALPA in twice while I was there but the old, 50+ lifers shot it down both times. I had about 10 ex-girlfriends there and the drama was really picking up on my way out so now I think of it as my Vietnam. Good times.

I didn’t know what a union was when I was 21. But I did know Playboy magazine voted SkyWest to have the hottest flight attendants of any US carrier.

lol I heard about that. everything is getting less cool as time goes on isn't it. And now the pilot shortage is over, talk about adding insult to injury.

You might want to read up on what Aviate is/was. It's not anywhere close to a "front of the line program".

That’s the version I watched yesterday, I’m not sure what you were watching.
We were told today by our UAX management that the 50 seat comment was taken out of context and intended to be a worse case scenario and was not the current plan. Being able to view the full town hall with some context around these comments would be really helpful. Does anyone have a link? The flyingtogether link seems to be down.

I don’t know how
“My guess the 50 seaters mostly will be gone, by the end of this,”
could possibly be taken out of context.

Not trying to be snarky at you, just your management’s interpretation.

Watch it yourself when you get a chance. He was perfectly clear on the 50 seat issue.
