full Qual course, IOE, consolidate, observe B1-4 and FFS1-4 then beonserved instructing those lessons. Since they where already PIs probably fast track straight into observing FFS6-9 and CQT, then observed instructing those lessons. Then again since already a PI fast tracked into observing QMV, CQMV, LDRQ, CQTL then observed instructing those lessons then FAA sign off.
8 months to a year. Also all those observations remove instructors from the sked not to mention the massive increase in required QCs.

Although I don’t see 4000 cuts, but if they did that’s likely 125ish instructors, and other management pilots. Would they even get that many from the line to replace them? Many may not want to replace a furloughee job, or move to Denver. Im not sure how some would feel about filling a job only made empty by a furlough of a union brother or sister.

Pilots returning from furlough are treated like new hires and receive whatever is in the class drop. That said, I'm sure any furloughed IPs would be on the short list when re-applying for IP jobs.

And frankly, once the displacement training's done, there will be a period where the bridge between the E and F building will have more tumbleweeds than people on it. And it's not like displacement training needs to be done quickly - train a few classes of NB FOs and that's probably all it will take to keep the airline running at this reduced level of flying.

I've personally witnessed the 737 instructor program change 3 times since I've been in the building. What makes you think they can't change it again to fit this situation? Serious question.

with that Said there has been massive turnover in that building in the last year. There are new Managing Directors including the top guy. There are new managers running all the fleets. Several fleets have all new APMs and the POI is going to be new soon.
there was a ton of work done over the last year standardizing instructor training across all fleets, bringing the training up to what is required by AQP and the FAA.....we fell short for a long time.
they are free to change it but they better start now.
