According to the LOA, a certain number of initial offers of employment to furloughed UAL pilots are made regardless whether the express carriers are in “hiring mode“. They have to hire a certain number per airframe.
Also, when hired on this way, you’re on 2nd year pay, UAL making up the difference.

Is that a union contact or company contact? I doubt it could churn out the numbers to be an effective scab factory, but still.

Got it, you’re reaching out as an extension of management to cultivate the next crop of scabs?
“Full speed ahead there junior birdmen! Don’t worry that United is going to have thousands of pilots on furlough and Boeing estimates a 3-5 year recovery.”
What kind of encouragement (or false promises) are you offering here? United is publicly saying all CAPEX is canceled, with the exception of a pilot school, and on the eve of massive pilot furloughs?
What’s the spin? Is it just a profit center of false hope?

The future of Aviate sounds like Covid-19 has brought its imminent demise - proof there will never ever be a pilot shortage. We will always be in low demand, with a pilot oversupply, and bankruptcies and furloughs every 8-10 years. As usual!

Just looked at the website for the first time. In light of the present situation, the company must be looking at the “academy” as a moneymaking “side hustle” or else it would have already been made dormant. I’m not even sure they should in good conscience take people’s money, based on the comical career expectation claims they are making. Again, they have to be generating revenue from it or else it would be toast.
