Quote: it’s definitely a waste of time. But I DO actually learn some stuff on here. My main point was that there are some guys on here who remind me of the 50-year old fat bald guy who wears his high school letterman jacket to the Friday night high school football games.....and maybe even tries to go to the kegger afterwards. I hope I don’t end up like that.
I’ve never understood this mentality (and I’m still a decade from retirement). There’s no reason why a retired pilot shouldn’t continue to spend some time on airline pilot forums. Consider it just one of the many things he or she can do to fill time in the day. Besides, while I rarely post, I do enjoy the back and forth banter here. It’s pure entertainment, really.

It’s not the events that can be blamed on these “leaders,” it’s their response. 9/11: bungled. COVID: I squarely blame a lack of leadership on our slow recovery. Demand was rising, until we lost control of the spread because dimwit got bored with dealing with it, and left the response up to everyone else. He is most definitely at fault for where we are now, and where we will be this fall.

Quote: Sooo, you want to blame 9/11 and COVID on whomever was in office?
Who was the POTUS that stopped the American Airlines pilots' strike?
(I won't bother poking any more holes in that silliness)

I thought it was Chinas fault...they are just now banning wild game markets. Just now they think of that. Stupidity at its finest. #WW3

Perhaps it/coverboard 19 was reintroduced by the rioters as thousands of them were throwing rocks and burning their cities down and not wearing masks or social distancing while the local “leaders” actually encouraged this behavior. Meanwhile joe citizen wasn’t allowed to work, go to the gym or attend a family funeral.
Now these “leaders” are mandating quarantines for travel. This is what is killing the economic and travel recoveries.
is this for safety or politics? Funny how these “local” politicians enacting these airline/travel job killing quarantines are from the opposition party.
while I agree there could be more communication from the White House I don’t think he’s entirely to blame here?
imo these local leaders are the “dimwits” and I put the blame squarely on them!

Geee let’s see how many threads can turn into a political food fight! This is getting ridiculous.

So the solution is to address the symptom and not the cause. And yeah...all those mayors sure loved their cities getting trashed, and love having to deal with people who can’t won’t follow simple guidelines. Nobody wants their cities and economies shut down. Nobody wants to wear masks, either. And because some people can’t be bothered to do something they don’t want to do, the economy and our earnings aren’t so good.

I tied in earnings.
