Why all the executive session? What type of polling has taken place in order to get the pulse of the pilots? What limitations have the pilot group placed on this process? Or do they continue to get their "best held" 94.5 hrs pay without going to training? Will they have to retroactively repay anything? My concern is that Insler and his gang will keep getting big pay, while the minion line pilots take one for the team. What are the automatic triggers to snap back and retro pay? Who guarantees we get made whole and what is that process? When did the LEC reps authorize the NC to pursue this course of action? What does the AIP do to dues income at ALPA as compared to not having the AIP? Is this now simply a part time job? Is that the view of ALPA? Are the pilots simply financing the business plan of UAL, or is the rest of the employees taking one for the team as well? Are we the only ones "participating" in reduced earnings schemes to finance and fund the airlines business plan? Not UAL, but to get answers, you need to pick up the phone and call your reps. Don't post on some forum or facebook. Don't email. Pick up the phone, talk to them directly. It's much easier to get the nuance of the situation that way. If you don't like the answer your reps give you, call the reps in another council, especially one that's known to have a different point of view. They might direct you to call your own reps, but if they're interested in giving you that different point of view, they might chat with you and that will at least allow you to "bookend" the situation. Get your friends to call. Get their friends to call. If you have reps that represent 1,000 pilots, that drains their phone in a hurry. Having the same 10 or 15 people call that always call doesn't get the message through. Having a lot of people call, who don't normally call, is noticed in a big way. |

Who is making the deals to buy the votes? What is the gain? Is this all about personal loyalty and allegiances to specific MEC officers? What is the pay off or payback? |
