No. It turns out that UAL has literally too many pilots. Something something pandemic.

This is simply to balance things out as the 787 is a growing, and very active, fleet with lots of early retirements this last round.

It's suspected that there will be another displacement when this vacancy is done to balance things out the other direction where needed.

NB slots will be available/filled under secondary backfills... if you want something put in a standing bid.

I think those “bids” are out in June. As mentioned above, something something pandemic.

Perhaps “suspected” was lack of better word here, but PC has stated that they intend to run a displacement immediately after this vacancy and then a follow up displacement to ensure NB’s are appropriately staffed.

Extremely unlikely there will be any secondaries/ backfills on this vacancy. Almost every category has an abnormally low Min precisely to prevent backfills.

but you can’t get what you don’t bid for, so yes, everyone should have a bid in if they want to move from their current Category.

So does everyone with 100% or less on MAX base percentage for April not have to get displaced later this month?

Yep. Those two coming displacement bids will take care of anyone who wants to go to NB, assuming they're not in a BES that's on the vacancy list.
Even at that, I expect that there will be displacements on fifi in order to push people into the guppy.
The two fleets they seem to want to staff are the 787 and guppy.

So being listed as 100.0% base percentage on max means you are safe from displacement? If there are people after you at (101%, 102% etc,) they could be displaced?
