Thats tough to hear. A buddy did not advance past the Hogan either (his first time) he is a very easy going person who I know and have worked with. Highly competent and great record, wonderful family. He said the same thing, overthought it. About 18 months later he got a chance and retook it and met whatever criteria is set in the confounded algorithm. Hang in there, keep building your resume and keep a clean record, stay out of the police blotter and you’ll be taking it again soon enough. Good luck!!

Does anyone know if they consider applicants with overseas experience? 7000TT on A330.

If you have the right to work in the US (UAL will not sponsor a visa) and appropriate FAA certificates, then yes.

I once saw “Hogan test” written on a bathroom stall with an arrow pointing at the toilet seat covers. I thought, “Well, the Hogan test got it right at least once,” since it apparently disqualified someone who is inclined to write on the bathroom stall.

The hogan test is just a way to weed out another layer of qualified applicants out of a huge pool. It’s goal is the identify personality traits that are undesirable... to include repeat questions that result in different answers by an applicant (big no-no). Bottom line...To pass just answer the questions truthfully and quickly; when you overthink them it will probably result in a fail.

That SUCKS man, so sorry to hear that. But I can't tell you how many pilots I know that had the same result that were great people and would have fit in just fine.

I was shocked at the folks that the Hogan shot down. Good pilots that were universally respected at my previous airline.
Same same.

Absolutely.

As mentioned, if you have right to work/abode, U.S. certs/ratings, as well as a degree, etc.

Is having a LOR on your app an unwritten requirement for getting your app pulled? I don’t have any as of yet but just curious.

i don’t think this is true that you have to answer super consistently. I was not completely consistent because they’re different questions, and passed. I think they put in some of those duplicates to see if you’re being a robot or a nuanced human being.
