I did use a prep service. There are plenty out there and they are all about the same. Checked and Set and Cage Marshall are highly recommended. I had 3 LORs, one current CA, one retired, one from another airline.

I’ve asked myself the same question a lot recently… I’m generally happy at my ULCC (been here about 4 years, great people to work with), but it’s an east coast airline with a small west coast footprint (pretty obvious where I work). There has been talk of west coast growth since I’ve been here, but nothing has developed. The west coast schedules are redeye-laden and the upgrade time in my base is currently sitting at roughly 14 years (give or take) and even senior CAs can’t escape the back side of the clock flying. I have no interest in commuting across the country for upgrade should that ever present itself, and I’d like to see some day time that isn’t flying into the rising sun for 4+ hours. If United doesn’t call, I feel fortunate to have a job with which I’m relatively satisfied, but the variety, the options, and the potential for a west coast upgrade make it appealing to me. On the other hand, Recent events further highlight the vulnerabilities of the industry and make the benefits of staying put quite apparent. I suppose it’s a decision to make should United give me a call.
14 year upgrade? It's like 3-5, if you're flying the banana boat. Did I miss something? Wrong cruise line?

There are two white and blue airlines. One heavily on the east coast, one heavily on the west coast. Only one has a base on the opposite coast and it’s uber senior. The other one closed their opposite coast base.

They are super busy so maybe an administrative error? I don’t know.
