Not once did I say white males should not have an opportunity or be excluded. In fact, 50% of the applicants will he white males.

I just believe that other people can also do this job and perhaps lack of opportunity or exposure or financing or maybe reading this thread makes them not want too.

[QUOTE=Mudge;3218946]I'll take your bait.
If someone votes for today's liberal party, then statistically there is a greater chance they are of the handout mindset. Or of the mindset that every tax paying citizen should give handouts based upon their liberal belief. In terms of hiring quotas, preference is already based upon experience and professional metrics. Altering that to include anything but is just another handout. and do you have factual statistics of this or is this your perception? This is pure ignorance without some data. |

Just saying. Some people in certain minorities don’t even think flying is an option for them. If they see it’s an option for them they will then work hard for their goals without assistance from programs like this.
My ‘white privilege’ involved a GED, bus ticket from a rough neighborhood to boot camp. College and flight training via G.I. Bill. Same route any one of my underprivileged enlisted brothers and sisters could have pursued, but chose not to. Sat on flight decks for decades talking to minorities/females, many of which came from Upper middle class upbringings, attended /recruited to prestigious schools, flight schools and service academies, only to then get invitations to preferential hiring seminars and receive scholarships via OBAP, WIA, 99s, etc, and proceed straight to the front of the hiring line at every major airline that competed for their “representation”. I did not resent them for their opportunities, but wished I too could’ve got to the majors 5- 10 years sooner. To say that enough has not been done to attract females and minorities is simply not true. There have been role models for decades, Civilian, military, bending over backwards to attract them. The field has not only been leveled, it tilts heavily in their favor. Enough with the excuses. It all boils down to choices, and perhaps we should start to accept the evidence that maybe they don’t want this lifestyle or what it takes to get here. |

People making less than $30K per year vote liberal by a margin of 2 to 1. But I guess it's just my ignorance with those silly facts to back it up. |

It all based on culture. Plane and simple. I have several minority friends who are pilots. You know what they have in common? They are all conservatives. They have great work ethic. Never wanted any handouts from everyone. The unfortunate reality in our society is that the current mainstream culture talks down on minorities and makes them think it’s “the Man” who is holding them back. This is especially prevalent with people who subscribe to the rap and hip hop culture and other things like that. (Think Cardi B’s song W.A.P etc...)
How did we get to this point? Well you will have to do that research on your own. But in order to improve “diversity” we have to get rid of this current degenerate mainstream culture. That could perhaps move ourselves in the correct direction and may even help prevent the destruction of our country before it’s too late. my 2 cents edit wording |
The pandering won’t stop. It’s going to get worse. So much for the “no special treatment” argument.... Meanwhile, Captains who’ve been at the company for 30+ years retired early last year after being enticed to do so to protect the younger folks from being furloughed. They retired without so much as a wink. Certainly, no water cannon salute.

Yep, no racism here... :rolleyes:
Yep, it's music that's the problem. If you ask me, it's all Elvis's fault. |
