So you have to experience something to be able to have an opinion on it? “If you’ve never been murdered, you may not participate in a discussion about murder.” Makes sense.
Also, most female pilots I know have not had either of those things happen. In fact I’m willing to bet occurrences like that are a tiny fraction of interactions between male evaluators or interviewers with female applicants, and in line with the percentage of those types of interactions in any other workplace outside of aviation (no data to back that up, but I’ve never heard of some rampant BJ seeking culture in the checkride world, and I don’t buy it). And, I assume each time it occurred with all the female pilots you know, the checkride/interview was stopped, cops called, and the said perp arrested, or supervisors informed, etc? If I went to go take a check ride or interview and some dude told me I had to blow him to pass, that’d be a pretty easy problem set to deal with for me, regardless of my gender. Your living in denial or you've only flown for the government or a union airline. I doubt its as clumsy as a BJ for a SAT check ride. Corporate absolutely is, what's in it for me? If I hire you you'll either get pregnant or already have scheduling problems with kids. "I just got off the phone with Flight Safety it's 20k to get you typed/checked out for insurance. What do you think about that? I can book us a hotel room. Do you think it would be a good idea?" When she says no, I don't think that will be a good idea, obviously the job falls though. Then typically a white upper middle class pilot is hired who then complains women get an extra box to check at the majors and it isn't fair. Bill Clinton and Donald Trump have been banging women in their 30's for 40 years. Do you really think other rich aircraft owners are different? If it hasn't happened to women you know then they are not attractive, have been in government, or stayed at a flight school until a regional hires them. In cooperate it absolutely happens when you send out job applications and are pursuing a step in your career, like turbine time, turbine pic, jet types etc. |

Your daughters had an opportunity and a choice. So would it be presumptive to assume that you are in favor of giving exposure and access to aviation to groups that are underrepresented and do not have that access, in their youth for example, so they can make an informed decision whether or not professional aviation is a desirable career?
Fortunately, being a rich white male with a pilot dad isn’t a pre-req. for exposure to actually get a flight. I didn’t know about that program as a kid (wish I did, if it even existed back then). |

Can United get sued for choosing a less qualified candidate over a more qualified candidate based on race or gender? I don’t see how that can possibly be legal.
It would be proven the type didn't add to safety and minority pilots were never interviewed. A barrier of entry was establish to prevent the need to discriminate at the interview. Same with a community college vs Embry Riddle. |

That’s one example of a limited program that casts a very narrow net. I am glad it exists however.

That perpetuates identity politics and is a clear example of judging people by their race/gender (racism/sexism), the exact opposite of what we should be doing as a society. I had several black role models growing up. They didn’t look like me. And that didn’t matter.
Minorities and women have been flying commercially and in the military for a long time. If you can’t find a role model in aviation in 2021 (that is, if one of your requirements for a role model is that they have the same skin pigment and genitalia as you), then you aren’t looking. |

You shouldn’t bother responding to me anymore. You spoiled the possibility of an actual conversation.
edited to add: I just got woke from your comments and realized my mixed ethnicity kids won’t see me as a role model since I’m white. Any suggestions on where I can find a mixed ethnicity role model for them? Not a lot of people with their particular percentages running around who “look like them.” I guess they are doomed since they can’t have role models? See how asinine your position sounds yet? |

If your arguments were solid, then you wouldn’t hesitate to make them. But as soon as you get called out for your statement that someone has to be a certain (the same) race to be a role model (isn’t that judging someone by the color of their skin?), you disengage. Got it. See ya.
