From what I hear is, that you’re a month, maybe two on reserve if you chose the 737. The flying is also supposedly more interesting out of EWR. How about the 320 out of EWR? Since it’s not growing like the 737 fleet it looks like a much longer time on reserve. Has anyone an idea how long it takes to hold a line on 320 EWR? Is it also still true that the flying is more regional style with multiple legs a day?

That’s great! Can you tell me what the Bus is like on the LAX side in terms of trips & time on reserve? Thank you!

You generally can’t get those as a new hire off of the initial drop, but would be able to bid them on a vacancy. Right now, it’s about 3 years in all 3, but we did have a long break without hiring.

Lots of questions about time on rsv and the simple answer is it depends. The amount of flying varies wildly during the year and thus the g-line will move dramatically. If you live within the 2.5 hour bubble you may do better on rsv than with a super junior line so some people far below the g-line end up getting lines b/c senior g-line holders choose rsv. If you are slightly below the g-line, you can waive some of the protections to try and get a line. In general, 75-80% seniority is a bottom line holder. In EWR and SFO that may only take a few months, IAD and LAX slightly longer and Den, ORD, and IAH much longer. I would not put much weight if any into line progression since it will change, bid the aircraft you want with the type of flying you want and avoid commuting if you can.

I'm a 10/28 CJO and just received my class date for Jan 11th, I believe I'm in the last round of 10/28 CJO's class date offers. So I'd expect you guys would start receiving offers by the end of next week, just my guess.

Change of base
If you choose a base during indoc and then decide while in sims/ioe that a line from ewr/sfo would get a line sooner and would prefer that, how long would it take to change to these more junior bases with unlimited openings?
Thank you.
Thank you.
