I never got the memo that the hat switch was on. Last message I got said it was off. Granted it was over a decade ago, but whatever. 😜

Books and magazines are not prohibited in cruise. It even says in the FOM it is prohibited only in sterile.

Fine. How about all of the non essential conversations during the sterile phase. The point was that all pilots are the same and that that some parts of the FOM at every company aren’t strictly adhered to. The only difference between pilots at United, Delta….. is the color of the uniforms.

Buck Rogers: “We’ll that one about what to plug in the cockpit outlet is one, also turning phone data off is another, there’s a few more but I am not familiar enough with the UAL FOM to list them all here during the interview.”

See Buck, virtually all UAL pilots do their best to follow the FM and FOM. Sometimes they fail but it isn’t because they, unlike you, intentionally deviate, it’s because they didn’t know they were deviating.
I think you are on a high horse a bit on this one. I won’t go into details but here are plenty of things guys know they are supposed to do or not do but don’t comply.

We have the PPO plan, it’s pretty good and cheaper than my spouses choices. Covers a lot.
