I'm on a similar boat. I got the UAL CJO and recently started indoc somewhere else. My concern is if UAL calls me for the class before I finish training. Do you guys think it may be an issue with the PRIA? If I take the class for UAL before I finish training, then I will have an incomplete or training withdrawal on my record.

Not sure if this merits postponing the class at UAL for a month or two until training is complete potentially losing a few hundred valuable seniority spots

Who do you anticipate looking at your pria after united?

Maybe the places he applies at during his furlough, if one were to occur? Smart to know this is a cyclical industry and, just because it’s doing well now, doesn’t mean it will always do so.

Easily explainable. I got to the prom and then found a hotter date that was willing to go home with me.

What airline is going to hire a UAL furloughee?

If United is furloughing, everyone else is gone too. Time to work on your Real Estate license or open a Vape Shop - I’d take UAL over AA of you had the choice, but I’d take an AA number today while you wait on your UAL class date - because I’ve seen hiring grind to a stop and clad dates disappear.

It is just business when Pilots hop between carriers, and isn’t a black mark on your record if it isn’t a trend across your resume.

No one else of course, I expect United to be my final destination.
I understand that if UAL furloughs, prob the downturn is bad enough than no one else will hire me - with or without completing the training.

Obviously I want to grab the first available chair while the music is playing and start racking some seniority, but my intuition is telling me to at least finish training which may delay my start by 4-6 weeks if I get offered a Jan class.

I may also be a bit paranoid, but I'm concerned that if UAL runs a PRIA while I'm in training, my employer may inquire on the "why" and stop training on its tracks. Don't want to tarnish my record for something like this.

Hey everyone, just wondering if the 1 month-ish timeline from CJO to email with class date is still roughly accurate?

Got the CJO first week of Nov and trying to roughly plan some things!
