If they can pass an FAA Class 1 Medical every six months, then they should be good to go. There are many who can't well before those ages.

Forcing pilots onto Cobra or other insurance for two years before qualifying for stuff they've paid into their entire careers is wrong. Hopefully most won't need it, but the choice should be theirs.

It's really wrong in this day and age to have age limits. That goes for FAA and other government jobs as well. If you are fit and can pass the tests and medicals, then go for it.

Do Doctors or Lawyers have mandatory retirement? Do judges? Politicians? I know plenty of cops, firemen, EMT's who would loved to have continued working, even if it were only a desk job doing administrative duty....
if they can pass testing, then why not?
The testing is inadequate to the task. But I’m sure it’s not really a problem and that’s why we see so many 70 year old military pilots flying around.

Would you like additional compensation for poor life decisions too?
You think it’s fair to make your problems our problems? That somehow you’re owed something?
Get a grip boss and get out of my seat.

No.

Imagine you commute and die to the lack of regional pilots service keeps getting cut. 4 flights per day becomes 3, then 2, then 1, then zero. This is what congressmen are facing as well as their voters.

Maybe it won’t happen, I think it will.

Again, I am opposed.

1500 hour rule. Reverting it back to where it was wouldn't be a full solution, but it would help.

Neat quote that holds no relevancy. A strong business will survive and thrive because their plan either included the framework that was before it or was innovative enough to adapt to changing times. The rest will fail and that’s healthy.

No it wouldn't. The issue isn't a shortage of kids with 1500hrs willing to fly RJs, the issue is that there's a massive shortage of people with 1000hrs in the right seat of an RJ that are willing to upgrade instead of go to a company that isn't going to treat them like total trash.

This is not a sarcastic question, but what career field do you work in?

You've obviously never run a business before

You have to see it from the company’s point of view.

My family business has been trucking along longer than I've been a professional pilot. It's not supposed to be easy. Failure is the opportunity to improve and creates stronger business in America. Gosh knows I had some false starts in the beginning. My own fault and still learning. It's up to you to create a plan that works within the local/state/federal regulatory & competitive framework in front of you. I can only speak for myself, but I've never felt that was a hand tied behind my back; rather, the hurdles to overcome with a good plan. Good luck.
