Hmm… reasonable to pick a flight that gets in at 10:20 for a 2:35 interview? Or just not worth risking a cancellation or long delay?

I wouldn’t risk it, but that’s me. Your risk tolerance may be different. I’d personally rather fly in the night before and get a good night sleep rather than be tired and possibly stressed just from trying to get to the interview. How bad do you want United?

I would (and did) get in the night prior, be rested and not have to stress about any travel issues the day of.

Risk management (and cost-benefit) decision-making 101: No.

Don't be cheap. Get a hotel the night before.

Quick question - I submitted my application while my ATP was still in temporary status waiting on OKC to process it. For whatever reason, it took several months to process. FWIW - I’m mil background and waited until I was near the end of my commitment to take my ATP. I had an app review with Cage and they recommended I go ahead and submit my app and update later with my Certificate number once received. In an effort to be as truthful as possible, I left my certificate number as temporary as my ATP certificate number was at the time still not yet processed by the Airman Registry.

I was very fortunate to get an invite to a chief pilot meet and greet recently. It was a phenomenal experience that I think went well. One of the pilots on special assignment in the room mentioned I should update my application to reflect the ATP certificate number that I now have in hand. I can’t find a way to get the new internal app to let me do this, so I emailed pilothiring at United, still waiting on an answer.

I’m worried my application will go unpicked due to my ATP certificate number reading “temporary”. Does anyone have any insight into whether or not the system will auto-filter out my application? Or am I just being too paranoid?

Thanks for any insight. United has been my dream job for over a decade, so I’m just trying to make sure some boneheaded mistake on my part doesn’t kill the dream.

Application under review so I can't update my times. Any idea on how long it might sit "under review" before they decide?

Mine has said "application under review" for the past 2 months but it still lets me edit my times and resubmit

Since United has you log in with Certificate number, what did put on that? Commercial Instrument number? If so, your ATP number will be the same as your Comm/Inst. If you do the Mil competency thing, your CFI cert number will be the same w/ CFI at the end. The cert number should also be on your temporary paper you signed the day of the ATP checkride.

Also, my certificate number and social are greyed out on the personal information section, so if there is a bogus number in there, you'd have to contact United Pilot hiring to explain/fix.

How does one go back to complete an application without the link email?
