Heard from someone that 2000TT/500 turbine is some kind of an interview trigger. Any truth to this? Thought that’s kind of low

Apparently Southwest is down to only “preferring” 500 turbine now too

Like (for a young person with a short resume) attending an elite university, prominent social media influencer, etc.
To even think this is a qualification goes to show where this profession is headed while safety is compromised.

I got a CJO with 2470 TT, 900 turbine, 0 TPIC. ULCC. Getting out of the regionals is the magic ticket.

I hear ya brotha. 3400 TT 100 TPIC (737) 1900 turbine 2 year degree working on 4 year and plenty of volunteer time, crickets at all 3. Kind of disheartening to see guys getting hired with 2 seconds at a regional/ULCC and no degrees. Makes me wonder what I’m doing wrong, considering that I don’t even feel THAT competitive… but I’m still trying.

I mean it is what it is.. current new plan is go to these job fairs next week and get on with a ULCC now that I’ve got some TPIC under me. Just curious, what were your new hire class demographics at UA? Lots of ULCC people? Lots military? WO? DL/AA/WN?

Oh, c'mon, you freakin' troglodyte!! Safety schmafety! While competence, ability, and experience are all cool they're completely overrated these days. Just ask SK, HR at Willis, or anyone else involved with Aviate. After all, we've got an expensive training department!! Just be quiet and let them work their magic. To quote a famous American, "ain't nobody got time for that!" Well, perhaps TK does.

Say, I fancy myself to be a "prominent relaxation social influencer". Think I should re-apply?

Nope. Went from regional FO to LCC, just finished training... I do have a 4 year aviation degree. Seems like jumping to an LCC is the real deal.
