1900 TT, 600 121, 0 PIC, 750 135 SIC. College Degree, One external letter of rec.

The interviewer mentioned they’re looking for something like “the whole package, not just a pilot” mentioning they know you can fly a plane that’s why you’re here, we want to know more about you as a person so keep that in mind! The things you talk about and stuff you do outside of your Total Time means a lot too.

FML, I had more hours than that when I was hired at a regional. How times have changed

I was just thinking that.
Regional: 3500 hrs, 500+ multi, 200+ turbine, four year degree. Age 29
Major: 10,000 hours, 5000 hours turbine PIC, check airman, master’s degree. Age 39

…and is was difficult just getting to any interview. A lot of my friends gave up and went on to something else.

Exactly. And even at that, you'd be lucky to get interviews from multiple airlines. #1-#2 might not call, so take the interview at #3. Granted, there were 6 legacies back then.

Now, people get calls (emails) from all 3 of the legacies.

From reading these posts it really seems like there is no specific set of hours they are looking for. Is it really just luck of the draw if you're invited for an interview?

it’s not luck of the draw. There is some experience required but that number has gotten really low. Past the minimum there are marginal returns for additional hours. It’s all about the whole person concept.

this is what they say now as they can't get anyone with total time.
