Go back up a few posts and look at the leaf graph. There is a reason the fos have such senior people. They get (imagine this ) days off they want, vacation they want, trips they want. Many of them make more than the junior captain sitting next to them on reserve. Not everything is about being captain. Wb fo can easily beat captain.

Looks like it could be a very informative graph if it weren’t blurry.

They are just front loading the staffing before they announce the Florida base. There will be a mass exodus of senior CAs in IAH when that happens. Problem solved.

Curious as to how…Lineholder to lineholder? Lineholder versus reserve? Pick up an extra trip since trips are more efficient? Not being snarky, just want to know this trick as the pay gap is around 70 per hour.

senior WBFO vs junior NBCA. Don’t forget to add in international override, which adds up to thousands per year. And, yeah…throw in one more trip and that’s another 30 hours+ per month.

I made over 300k in w2 income in 2019 as a 320 FO. 2X the Fo rate is a lot more than the captain rate. If you can get rid of your straight time stuff and pick up premium pay and soft time, you can make way more as a lineholding Fo than a Captain that doesn't trade their trips at all. Obviously a Captain that's a sharp trader will make more than an Fo that's a sharp trader, but an Fo that's a wolf can outdo a Captain that's a sheep.

Is that still true now that premium has all but ended?

Senior people are still buddy bidding with LCA’s and getting a bunch of their trips bought. They can then either enjoy the extra time at home or double dip.
