And they can’t re-train them in 3-4 months? How many 170/175’s are we parking so the dumpster fire can spend a few less bucks on training?

I’m sure our passengers are going to love flying around in a clapped out -900 with an American Airlines interior and the United logo duct taped over the AA paint.

I don't know the numbers. Don't care that much, not my fish to fry. Someone mentioned 20.

But it does sound like Kirby cares more about Mesa saving some money and him getting more regional lift, than passenger experience.

They can’t train 20 airframes worth of -900 pilots in 3 months.

what a disaster.

Can't? Or don't want to pay?

Probably bit of both. They already have long delays in new hire training. Adding few hundred transitions would totally jam them up. And with the amount of pilots they are losing, it likely would not be sustainable.

Agree with you there. He’s losing any faith the employees had left in him. He preaches customer experience and puts us through a Koolaid class when we go through training but when push comes to shove he’ll put the cheapest product he can get out there for our customers because he’s a cheapskate at heart.

The problem wouldn't 20 airframes need 100 crews need 200 training events. The problem would be the displacements.

UAL pilot scope won't allow 900's due to their weight. The crj550 is a crj700 with 50 seats that is usually weight restricted by our cap to mid 40 passengers. You would have to pull even more physical seats out of a 900 and recertify under the weight cap. This isn't happening.
