For either consolidation or proficiency flying you can displace people from the trips you like out of any base. You will get positive space and a hotel before and after the trip. That means you can cherry pick the most senior trips. You should get the approval of the original trip owner though to displace him/her. So far nobody has ever said no to me to get displaced. It’s a great deal for the senior guys getting trips bought from TK guys. They can either enjoy their paid time off or double dip.

that if ability to fly and get paid as a CA while teaching at TK gets signed into our contract, it will be very challenging to get hired at our training center. People will be able to commute positive space to DEN and get the benefit of CA pay for 6 months out of the year,
The new PBS for IE's will be interesting - if all the junior IE's get stuck with 04:00 sims all month every month, there might be some turnover. The IE commuters don't pick up a significant amount of the 0400's.

Uhhh… do we know if future jobshare widebody instructors would be paid as CA during fly months if they can’t hold widebody CA? I didn’t get that sense from the initial info but perhaps missed something.

I’d bet they get paid at 320 CA rate, but if you can wait a week, we should know once the actual language comes out.

My understanding is, that if you can’t hold widebody CA you will be paid your FO rates for the months you’re not teaching. So those months would be a huge pay cut. But I’m happy to be wrong on this.

Will have to wait and see what the finale language says, but to my understanding, on your “line” month while job sharing, you get paid for the fleet/seat you are actually sitting in. So for your 6 months in the building, A320 CA pay.. but if you elect not to actually upgrade or can’t hold the left seat on the fleet you teach on, you get normal FO pay for the month you go out and fly.
I mean think about it, if you would be a high seniority FO during your line months, and could get paid your CA rate at the same time, why would you upgrade and get garbage trips when you could be paid the same rate with Better seniority?

They'll get paid as a CA for 12 months out of the year - they can fly as a CA on job share and the new AIP has IE's at 320 CA pay when teaching.

they get paid the seat rate in their fly month while job sharing. no different than job share evaluator. If your line month is 777 F/O, your paid 777 F/O. If your line month is 787 Cap, your paid 787 captain. etc etc etc. in the building A320 blended at 90 hours plus override.

I agree that scenario would be wrong but it’s not the case. What’s also wrong is an instructor taking a pay cut to work in the TK. Every instructor can hold NB Captain right now but are getting FO WB pay. Even with the AIP, WB captains will get a pay cut when working in the building (as mentioned above).
