We know we've achieved then right balance when both sides hate us equally. I've literally been called both a nazi and a commie in the same day

How about a public statement of just hiring qualified, skillful pilots, period? Leave it at that. The airplane doesn’t give rats ass who you are, if you suck you suck. If you’re a natural born aviator once again that talent has nothing to with anything HR can conjure up.

However when someone bends metal that wouldn’t have otherwise been historically qualified or hired because of DEI, nepotism, scabbing, etc then it looks bad no matter what.

Sure it doesn’t grab headlines, but then again neither does an unfettered safety record.

Hi Rick,
For future reference, what particular parts were not civil?

I think everyone grossly overestimates the piloting skills of the current (and historical) hires. Even if they were good to start out with, automation and lack of repetition (long haul) indisputably causes atrophy over time. I can guarantee there are unsafe pilots at your carrier. We’ve been historically lucky since Colgan.

Give a recent example of someone not “ historically qualified “ , bending metal . Otherwise your point is invalid . But on the other hand, I have hundreds of examples where blond hair blue eyed Billy who was “ historically overqualified “ , has seriously smucked up something. Bottom line is they can hire who ever they want, we all have to perform to the same standards. There are no shortcuts to a MV LOE OR LINECHECK . The sooner you picklehead backwoods morons realize this , we can stop wasting time on these pointless conversations and focus on a contract .
Bottom line is UA has alot of guys who don’t really care for minorities . Most of them assume you feel or think the same way they do just because you’re both white and I don’t. It disgusts me sometimes to sit there on the flight deck and listen to some of the crap that comes out of some of these guys mouths at times regarding this stuff.
