Maybe someday people will just treat each other like people instead of a category. I’m beginning to think that will not ever happen. All races are guilty of it.

Exactly. We’re all just people and we have more in common than we do differences. Unfortunately, Booker T. Washington was right about people making a business out of keeping the pot stirred. It makes MLK’s dream that much harder to achieve.

Good Leads the Way, but I get the feeling deep down corporations hate people…or at the very least don’t respect them very much.

DEI misses the point and becomes yet another tool to exploit, deceive and control. It isn’t for the benefit of humanity.

The DEI initiatives are inherently anti-safety. It’s nothing new, the industry wide preference of military and nepotism hires for decades was the same facade but today’s packaging is a lot more colorful.

Corporations hate negative press that could tarnish the brand and affect profits. It doesn’t matter if it’s DEI, the environment, etc. They enthusiastically jump on the bandwagon to avoid being seen as not believing in what ever is popular at the moment.

This is definitely partly true. However, what we really need are corporations that are genuinely courageous. What if United, et al, held color-blind and gender-blind interviews? That arrangement would truly "lead the way." DEI hurts the very people that it purports to help. Seems to me the best way to end racial and sexual discrimination is to stop discriminating based on race and gender. Call me crazy! BTW, whoever brought up the sentiments of the late, great Booker T. Washington - you're spot on. He is a man whose greatest contributions are largely ignored by today's progressives. How sad.

Y'all be careful out there.

Anti safety ?? How ? Explain how the DEI initiative has led to an increased number of accidents or incidents?
Seems to me that every time there is an incident at UA it’s not the group that you are referring to at the controls.

People like their groups, the chromosomes really don’t matter. Look at the recent riots in Philly after the Eagles super bowl loss.

And it was only a game, played largely by young millionaires…

And that’s nothing compared to a serious soccer riot.

Hiring with biographical bias does not contribute to safety.

Can you verify your claim about incidents and accidents? We can look at accidents the last 20 years or so in the industry.

An example from another industry:
