Remind me again why hiring black, arab, hispanic, asian pilots are bad? They deserve a chance.
It is not bad. It’s good.

Having different standards is bad. Removing standards for political and ideological motivations is bad. Ignoring HR, personal and safety issues in hiring of pilots and air traffic controllers is bad.

This has been going on for decades. The flavor and color of the preferred candidates changes, but the bias, nepotism, blatant bigotry and favoritism does not. It’s packaged as “Good Leads the Way”, but it is the exact opposite.

You say 93% of pilots are white males. In NTSB reportable accidents and incidents, what percentage of pilots involved are white males? Take a guess? It’s much less than 93%, because standards were reduced to fulfill ideological goals. Employees and customers are expendable because of political ideology.

The desire for “diversity” exceeds the supply of adequate candidates. So, standards are reduced until the diversity goals are achieved. This probably leads to more preventable incidents and accidents, HR problems, etc., but airlines have made the decision that this is the cost of doing business, this is OK.

DEI has some negative consequences. These issues should be addressed before there is needless injury and death.

Is it less? It might be, but do you know that? Where can I find that information? When an accident/incident occurs are the demographics of the mishap pilots recorded as part of the report? I tend to think that’s not even allowed but maybe it is and it should be allowed.

You’re drawing some rather strong conclusions without offering much actual data to support your claims. Admittedly, I was unable to find accident/incident data as it relates to pilot race/ethnicity. If you have a source, please do share.

That said, I don’t even need to see the data to know that you making a correlation between DEI and a decrease in aviation safety in the 121 environment is absolute trash.

Lastly, it’s clear that pretty much all of the airlines have lowered their experience requirements to meet their hiring goals. These requirements have been lowered for all applicants, regardless of race or gender. I’ve been told that UA hired a 23 yo, 2200 hour pilot who bounced from the Skywest-Spirit-UA in short order. He wasn’t a DEI hire.

The standards have been lowered across the board so what are we really talking about here???

I’ve flown with numerous retired military pilots with unbelievably weak piloting skills and decision-making. Should we stop veteran’s preference for job applications too since that elevates a lot of “unqualified” people to a newhire class?

gmafb.. this thread is just a disgrace and nothing more than the Tucker & Pals addicted forever victims throwing one fit after another.

APC used to be useful, but this is nothing more than a safe haven for the most ignorant among us.

mods, feel free to delete my account. There’s nothing of use in this echo chamber of crybabies. Such an embarrassment to the profession.

Military pilots are considered diversity hires. You know, the ones with no civilian flying experience, no passenger experience, no 121 experience, many times only single pilot experience, and have the most issues in initial training? But sure let's make the 100th thread about women being hired.

Progressives basically only know know to how view the world through race and sexual issues, ironically.

One time I had a friend telling a story about a crazy dude on the beach harassing a random black dude. My progressive in-law then commented, “wow, so some crazy white guy just wanted to be racist today.”
Progressive in law just assumed the race. He was actually black.

If everyone around you sees a subject different than you do, is there even the remotest possibility that you're the incorrect one? Besides, this is a public forum, wouldn't you rather know where the "hearts and minds" are of your cohorts or just be surrounded by a monolithic echo chamber that reinforces YOUR beliefs?

Yes… Every veteran should have to do a minimum of 12 months on the regional to get the idea that they’re there to help the company get beaten out of them 😂.
