Believe me I remember it, with a stroke of a pen 300 over age sixty engineers moved back to the left seat. Then add on no retirements for five years and a totally crap economy thrown in the mix.
Lost my WB captain bid and got an extra five years as an FO.
So yes I remember.
So a two year extension in the largest hiring boom ever in airline history is going to make this practically a non event.
I know you are going to say you got stuck at a regional longer. Probably a better deal than in 1993 when I got out of the military and me and most of my friends were either unemployed or working some crap job. So yes everybody has it tough every once and a while.
You want me to cry for you go live in the slums of Mumbai, you got nothing to cry about.

If age 67 is law moving forward, everyone that can take advantage of it gets the same additional 2 years. And those hired in the past few years are making very good money (when compared to 2001-2013).
Enjoy the extra $.

Age 67 is going to happen, or, it will not. You and I (and ALPA) have zero influence on the process.
Relax. Enjoy your career. Fly safe.

You're correct. And you are not following the groupthink in this echo chamber.
I have made no effort to contact my representatives either in favor or against age 67. I have done nothing to support or oppose an age change. That doesn't matter; my problem is that like you, I'm just telling everyone the extremely likely outcome which is that the retirement age will change to 67.
They'll use the safety/science argument, but now that I've pointed out the elevated coronary risk of 50-60 year olds - you know, science - they focus on cognitive decline. Never mind that anyone who's studied cognitive decline would know that there's no inexpensive or reliable way to determine cognitive decline. No science, but that doesn't matter to them. Because we're all selfish pricks arguing for what will benefit us.
To be clear for everyone, I'm not arguing for or against an age change; I'm agnostic on hte subject. I am simply stating the obvious on the sugject.
