not sure anything about the seniority system or any other system for that matter is “fair”

The seniority system is the only truly fair employment system we have. Or if not fair, truly egalitarian.

At least until the 67 crowd absolutely nukes that too.

Honest question, how does age 67 not benefit all pilots? Won’t all of us be able to fly til we’re 67? How does this harm anyone in todays climate of one year upgrades and hundreds of aircraft on order?

Can’t tell if you are kidding, but it means that you have to wait two years longer for everything that you would have today, all things being equal.

But you still get all those things. Just two years later. No foul.

Lots of us enjoy life outside of aviation. I would rather retire at 65 than at 67. Age 67 will either force me to give up 2 years of my life to achieve the same seniority or forgo the seniority I would have had to still retire at 65. All so people can stroke their ego for another 2 years because they didn't develop any hobbies or plan for their retirement.

The pro-67 crowd needs to stop acting like there are no downsides. If Age 67 is so good for everyone, why not push it all the way up to 90? Think about all the extra money you could earn.

Feel free to retire at 65, then. You are not REQUIRED to work until 67.

Age 67 is just the next step in the process. After this passes there will be a push for another extension, or eliminating the age requirement all together.

Looks like your reading comprehension has already degraded. I said age 67 forces us to pick between 2 options. Option 1, achieve the seniority we expected before the rules got changed. That forces us to work longer. Option 2, retire at 65 and give up 2 years of seniority. Those are bad options for the people that don't have our personalities tied to this job.
