You guys that are complaining about the way PS is structured are freaking HILARIOUS! B’yotching about this on APC is absolutely useless. Talk to your ALPA reps and try to get it changed for contract 3035 or whenever you see our next AIP.

Sitting at a hotel, what else do I have to do? I’ve already let my rep know and will continue to do so. Trying to have other people do the same is the opposite of useless. If you want ALPA to take notice you’ll need more than one person to say something. But hey, if you don’t agree it must be stupid. How much of that ladder have you pulled up already?
That's what you can do.

It’s a union negotiated item agreed upon with management, not controlled. There’s a difference. If someone is making money for the company and profit sharing exists with that group then they should see the fruits of their labors. It’s something I let my reps know is important to me and want to see in the contract. Not a fan of pulling ladders up.
At least there is a bid open right now that gives you an opportunity to increase your pay dramatically if you would like to.

Getting new-hires/probationary pilots PS is already standing direction to the MEC chair and negotiators from back during Jay Heppner’s time as MEC chair. Just getting the updated language is a step forward, even if symbolic, at this point. The company PS plan says no employee under one calendar year of service is eligible, unfortunately. I don’t like it either.

The only thing currently keeping new hires from getting PS is the company.

If alpa wanted it bad enough they would have got it. All I’m saying is that alpa wont get union dues from a new hires profit sharing check if they haven’t been here for less than a year. They don’t pay dues until they reached 1 year on property.

Exactly how much negotiating leverage would you have wanted them to spend on something that no other employee group at the company gets? They spent some to get the language that they got, if the company ever elects to give PS to any employees under one year pilots will get it. That is reasonable and not an ALPA failure imo.
