You ever seen the video on that? Effing scary.
And sadly, it kinda sorta falls in line with a certain narrative........
Did they have double the hours, type ratings, but most importantly, double the soup kitchens volunteered at/kittens rescued?

So what'ds your point?
Human nature is real? People support things that help them at a possible expense to others? It establishes reverse discrimination as a balance to years of discrimination? It is a form of reparations?
It's a pendulum Quotas.... DEI....Status Quo. DEI is kinda like a transgender...not quite a Quota... not quite Status Quo( not meant ot be offensive...DEI is kinda a tweener)
Nothing to base it on, but it wouldn't surprise me if a "minority" pilot supportes DEI initiatives and as time goes by, after being hired at a legacy, their DEI support wanes(due to LJ Driver's thoughts). They want to feel they earned it fair and square, and initiatives that might have an appearance of "Unearned rewards" possibly besmirching their accomplishments, garners less support. Just a possible, logical supposition based on "Human Nature".
Then again, I could be wrong.

There are people here who spent 15-20 years on the seniority list before they could hold the left seat (with a retirement age of 60), so maybe a few more years in the right seat to “hone their craft” won’t be a burden for someone hired with 40+ years before retirement.

An all the poor people I know and speak to support "tax the rich" initiatives.

And that PERCEPTION no matter how inaccurate is one of the problems with DEI.
It's sort of like the Introduction to Fighter Fundamentals instructors when the offspring of a three or four star comes to them out of UPT. They would really prefer to instruct someone who they know had nobody pulling strings for him/her to get there and who they know they can evaluate objectively without any risk of blowback.
Or when a subordinate has a personal relationship with a superior.
It's sort of like nepotism. Nobody is totally sure if the bosses kid actually got the job on merit even if they really were the best person for the job. Maybe they were but it's only human nature to have a few doubts.

One needs to read Judge Thomas' reason for placing a 15 cents sticker on his Yale law diploma.

I was expecting this incident and/or the PDX DC-8 crash to be brought up on this thread as an issue with United.

I pay for that inclusiveness every day of my life. 35 surgeries. Unable to have kids. On a very convoluted SI medical.
But hey she checked two boxes off.
That ****ed off my wife and female pilot friends something fierce. Because they didn't suck at their jobs. But because the idiot was given so many extra chances, it then makes people wonder if they are there because they can do it, or because what equipment they have between their legs.
I acknowledge that 50 years ago it was hard for women and minorities to bust down the door.
But the difference in standards once here (or to get in the door) shouldn't be there.
