‘honestly the only reason I noticed is that he was walking to the gate with two other pilots… if he was solo walking in the terminal a passenger wouldn’t even notice unless wearing a hat.

This exactly, it’s a nice jacket, my son works at a resort and they also get a nice “tech” jacket, free every year, as does the guy who delivers propane.

I’ve only flown one trip post uniform swap… but most had the new hats and wearing them. I fly internationally so hats and jackets all year long. I did notice on my crew that their are two different hat manufacturers… one looks gestapo like and the other more what were used to…
