I think alot goes into this equation about how long you've been at UPS and how old you are too. Mil Pension? Always wanted to fly pax? Its a weighted decision.

Need a citation for why smashing your nuts in a door is a stupid move? Come on.
I've also done this for a living. But thanks for the anecdote.

I fly with guys that have been doing it for 25+ years. Some of them should have retired years ago… some of them look like they’re still 45. There are some that could be literal poster children for the argument to extending retirement age. (Not advocating it, just saying that if I were they’d be the ones I studied). Life style and genetics are a huge factor. Just because it does t work for you, doesn’t mean it doesn’t work for everyone.

I’ve been doing the long haul international gig for 31 years, as a SO, FO, and CA. The introduction of inflight crew rest was an absolute game changer. Guys looked 80 when they had to leave at 60, completely different today.

chugging beer and brats at the watering hole in CGN after a week of short layovers in Europe is not conducive to longevity. Also at United the catering won’t be getting you close to losing you medical with every bite.
