Someone correct me if I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure United bought a lot of mesas 175s and lease them back to republic now. I could see us buying a place like commutair and getting them 175s . Them or maybe gojet?

As far as buying a regional, there is language somewhere, I think it's a FA thing vs. something in the UPA, that prohibits the company from holding more than a minority stake in any regional carrier. As long as the WSCODs are around, I'd say Commuteair will be the operator. GoJet will be the exclusive CRJ-550 operator (unless SkyWest has some on line?)

Serious question. How in the actual F are FAs line bidding? We have say 25-30,000 FAs here. Even a “small” base is 1,000+. Even a top 10% FA is still having to screw around with 100 lines in their bid. How the actual hell are 50-60-70% people doing this? This is hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of lines we’re talking about here. Wtf?
If I had to guess being bases as large as they are for FAs if all you care about is specific days off it’s not that hard to achieve so maybe they just throw in the 50-100 lines that have what they need off and be done, but still. Seems like a massive amount of work.
I lined bid at my regional. Even when I was top 10-20% id was still very time consuming. No clue how they do this. 🤷🏻♂️

At FedEx we have third party bidding software that you can use to filter and sort the lines. Works really well. Want to maximize your carryover, vacation, and training conflicts? No problem. Want to bid all the lines with deadheads at the beginning and end of each trip? No problem. Want to be a straight time wh re and maximize your carryover pay without losing any trips to conflict? No problem.
If you want to, you can do it in a very time consuming way and look at every single line. But PBS bidding can be extremely time consuming too if you look at every single pairing. Pilots at airlines with PBS pay for third party software to do their bids too.
