Being bought off a trip that attracts holiday pay. Yet YOU have to forego the add pay and the other guy pockets it. That language needs to be tightened up…

Pretty sure this entire post would be considered negotiating in public and frowned upon by the union. Fill out your surveys, file resolutions with your local councils nd then let the negotiating committee do its job.

The person who can't drink a beer on their deck should get the add pay, no?

Both should. I believe the contractual language says “scheduled to operate” for both this and other add pays (long duty day). Somehow being scheduled for the trip when the schedule is published is not “scheduled to operate” in the eyes of the company.

When the trip is removed from your schedule are you still “scheduled to operate” it?

I do realize that the negative repercussions of global reserve are seldom exercised by the company, yet if I had my way it would be abolished iaw industry standard.

I’m not at all sure a brainstorming session on a public forum meets the criteria for “negotiating in public”. May or may not be against the rules of the website, but in terms of constitutional law, seems pretty clear it’s legal enough. But you raise an interesting question. Probably time for a moderator to give their opinion.
