Actually intrepidcv, this is the 3rd downturn in this industry since I jumped in...Gulf War 1, 911/Dot.com bubble, and the current downturn....Everything considered, I'm doing better than many who jumped on the "two big hiring cycles" you speak of....

You and/or your predecessors sold this flying to protect the senior mainline pilots...Sorry it's mine now and I will do whatever I need to do to protect it....you do what you need to and I will do what I need to do......

Ray Charles could have seen this train wreck coming....Too bad some of you are just now seeing it.....

For the record Joe, I'm not going after anybody. Also, there haven't been that many comments and it doesn't take more than a few seconds to straighten them out, (although I will say there have been too many).

I just think it a bit reckless to see the things we read on here as always true. Especially if we use those posts against each other without verifying them.

The only point I was trying to make was that the UAL MEC did not publicly come out against the CAL MEC's stance on this issue.

There have been many comments on here and on FI....Too many IMO. Mainline sold this flying in the first place and created this mess.....Don't take this out on those of us who have suffered as a result.....We can fight too...

I hope the ual guys who do not have 70 seat protection will not take the 10 percent raise (20 or 30) and keep their current scope at the peril of losing the 50 seat protection cal has now. I see this as the play management is making. Just convince 51% that a pay raise is sufficient as they already have the 70 seaters. It's easy to accept the lack of scope in a new contract when you are on property and you don't have it anyway. Hopefully that doesn't happen on either side.

Hey no big deal. Some folks are happy to be in the back yard in the kiddie pool. Only difference is those types of folks tend not to talk smack to their neighbors that can afford an in ground pool especially about subjects they don't know about. Glad you are happy at a regional. I have an old buddy who told me he was going to be a carrier guy at Comair around '03. He called me last month and asked if I would write him a recommendation. I recognize your ramblings with 'you gave it to me, so it's mine' talk. Let me guess RJDC!?! You guys managed to succeed in the end. Well that is if success involves funding an addition on some lawyers' house!

Personally I don't advocate a jumpseat war myself so spare me the speech about 'you idiots gave it up, don't hurt me.' We'll go to court to fight this contractual battle and who knows we might just win. In the mean time, keep entertaining us with your insight on the UAL MEC's views of the CAL MEC's business concerning Scope. Can't wait for the insight of a carrier RJ capt when our JCBA comes out.

Joe,

I understand your frustration however, comments on here and FI, are not from our MEC's. Furthermore, I'm not taking anything out on anyone. Just trying to set the record straight as to what the UAL mec did, or did not, do with regard to this issue.

Also, I'm glad you guy's can fight. I hope you do. We all need to raise the bar.

Sorry if this falls under the thread drift category...

This problem was created entirely by the mainline pilots ego not wanting to fly "little" airplanes...At one time mainline flew small prop airplanes...then the ego came in and we started using size and powerplant as a "level" of pilot...Huge mistake, but it is what it is...

I'll start worrying about you when you guys stop fighting each other...Sounds like Jay and Wendy don't agree....The mainline ego never ceases to amaze me......Size seems to be everything....Sounds like little pecker syndrom to me..

Your right about RJDC...We are about to fire it up again here at ASA based on the comments from the UAL MEC.....You want a fight, you are going to get one...

Chucky, Wendy has been openly hostile to us at the "regional" level in public. In addition, many CAL pilots have advocated jumpseat wars and "lists"....Be careful which fights you pick...I can work with you, or I can do everything in my power to undermine you....Your choice...

Personally, I am growing tired of being told I am the cause of a problem which YOUR pilot groups created.....

Joe,

It would appear as though you have an axe to grind or a chip on your shoulder as you have not been able to look at the issue at hand.

The only thing that I have commented about is the UAL MEC's stand on the scope issue. And the so called public comments by said MEC. I haven't told you that you are the cause of any problem, nor have I chosen to pick a fight with you. That seems to have been your choice...

Goodnight

Joe - -why are you even here on our forurm stirring up crap? This is a ual/cal thread on the merger... I worked at Skywest too at one time. CAL did not create this nor did our union... Sorry, cant agree with you... I dont agree with jumpseat wars, as this has nothing to you with your pilot group.... We will do everything in our power to keep your 70 seaters off our property... We did not give up our scope at any point in time... CAL has held onto to it... Suggest that you not be inflamatory here... and think about joing the movement to take back this industry... We hate rjs - the company does not like them, they are stuck with them, the public hates them... This is for the betterment of EVERYONE... Again, I was at SKYW too... Great place with great people... Dont agree with the blast mail that came out regarding jump seats... But, just dont think that this inflamatory attack on every mainline guy in the boards is doing us any good either... Come on...
