Or how about all the furloughed folk who see the routes (ORD-FLL for example), they once flew now flown by CAL recalls. This crap started a couple years ago, lets not forget that.
I have no beef with my CAL brethren, I know they hate this as well and never asked for it either. But until a JCBA and SLI, it is just more teleportation of career existence/expectations from one side to the other, CAL being the obvious net winner. With all respect, I think the more senior you are the less you realize how big a hit this has been. Next we will have CAL planes parked and probably more UAL furloughs (maybe some of us for the 3rd time-yeah). Don't get me wrong, the fight should not be between us, but world peace means nothing when your entire career has been stripped away. Anything less than meaningful contract restoration and fair SLI integration is pretty much useless kumbaya mantra. I just want my frickin career back, you know the one that started 12 years ago. I'm sure 1436 others would agree. Peace- Kc |

Awesome!!! Might even be enough to mitigate the need for any more furloughs at The Incredible Shrinking Airline.
Sorry, bad attitude today. |

Hey that's my line! I've been calling CAL that for quite a while, 1999..5200 pilots, 2011....4800 pilots. UAL.....I know it's much worse so combined we are doing great! Sarcasm engaged.

No doubt. 2000 - 10000 pilots. 2011 - 6500 pilots. Pretty sad.

Actually it created waaaaay more jobs for non alpa brethren. Pretty sad we give oir jobs away. Its like domestically outsourcing our jobs to other union pilots. Fn brilliant and fn sad |

It's a win for ALPA. It's a win for all the new RJ pilots who get to fly shiny new jets with minimal experience. The only group opposed to this has been dramatically shrinking over the past 10 years. Don't underestimate how much of a fight this is going to be. |

Thanks for putting the matrix together. Is there anyway you can refine the list with percentages of retirement in each seat. Age 65 retirements, at least at UAL, does not mean Captain Widebody retirements as it did in the past. Thanks

Any retirement numbers beyond 2031 out there?

I did see a graph today that had retirements out to 2039, basically no one will be here who is currently on the property at UAL/CAL. So you could say 100% of the list retires by 2039. |
