From: 18%er but I’ll enforce UPA23 to the last period.
The number really needs to be closer to 300 to 400 and it should have been this past march but better late than never I suppose. Since the bid has 201 vacancies I would expect the number to be 201 UAL guys having the option to come over.

hum....so how would that work....would they remain on the furlough list at UAL... or do they give that up to go to the bottom of the CAL list with perhaps at least getting paid for their longevity at UAL... ???

Any guesses on what the furloughed United pilots' recall acceptance rate will be? 50% at best would be my guess. Most of the 1400 furloughed are double United furloughees: post 9/11/01 and then again in 2009. How does that saying go....."Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me." Would this be fool me 3 times????

You don't give up anything from United. They offer spots to UAL pilots in seniority order and you go to the bottom of the CAL list. You are paid according to your UAL longevity (although I'm not clear on whose payscale they use). When they sort out the SLI one of these years, you go back to wherever you fall on the list.
At least thats how I remembered it...I will have to go back and read the agreement again.

Most of those I know furloughed in the wake of 9/11 found greener pastures (SWA/FedEx/UPS). Those furloughed after the 2008 economic collapse had nowhere to go in or out of aviation and will have a much higher acceptance rate if it gets to them. Throw in mil leave and I'd bet they get close to going through half the list.
