I wonder who will fly it? As far as I know, there isn't any provisions for flying that plane at CO and there's nothing in the UA CBA for flying it.

I'd love to see it sit in the desert until Smisek & his henchmen share the wealth with a new contract.

The TPA states all new deliveries will be flown by there respective airlines pilots until there is a JCBA and SLI. So CAL will be flying the 787's until United starts getting theirs in 2016

It's already in the contract for pay too. Widebody pay. This has nothing to do with the current negotiations.

Exactly. Who gives a ****. Especially when you consider the statements made by Smisek regarding 787 replacing airframes.

My question is not about which group flys them. There are no provisions for them in contract, so the company needs to sign a contract before they operate.

It's already in the CAL contract. See page 3-2. The 787 is listed.

I'm here in SEA Boeing training center and they are really gearing up for the B787. I see the planes doing flight test almost daily in the area, and the instructors are all dual B777/787 qualified. Loads of FBS here and two really cool sims. I haven't flown it yet but been inside and it makes the B777 look like a dinosaur. A great airplane. A really want a go before I leave next week.
Does CAL/UAL have their own sims yet? Are your guys starting to get trained.
