When I went back to United in 2007 off of mil leave, I got paid for about half a month of waiting for class.

Mil leave folks could help out others by holding off returning (if not a hardship of course) until summer... Allow more non-mil to accept the limited slots this spring. Mil can return anytime, even without a "new hire" class scheduled. Just a thought.
