A friend of mine (Delta Capt) told me this morning there are reports that United has now entered the fray for bidding for American.
Anyone else hear this?

Better add the Cactus to the "Considering", or "May" short list.

Believe it when we see it......Nothing but speculation from what I can see. Having anything more concrete??

I'd bet another 4 or 5 buzzards join the circle over the next months. UAL isn't going to sit around while everyone else tries to tear meat off of a competitors carcass and not get scraps and shards. On the off chance a break up occurs, UAL would look like saps if they weren't in the mix and ready to improve their position with a sharpend beak.

IF (big if) it were true, UAL would probably overlook MIA.
"Why, MIA when can serve South America from NY?" (now Jersey). Sound familiar?
My glass half empty (and leaking) outlook says they'd rather continue to bludgeon ALPA and carve up the U side while slowly adding guppies to the CAL side. If they were to buy anything from AA it would probably be chunks of Eagle and some old 767-200's. They'd paint them, redo the interiors and FMS's, perform expensive D checks and then sell them at a huge loss. Anyone remember the expensive new boxes in the 737's that went in right before they parked them?
I give these guys zero credit. Zero. DAL continues to improve while we dick around with paint and el hefe's co-worker videos.
