My bud said it was in the news, but I hadn't seen anything....still haven't.
But, I wouldn't be surprised if others made "competitive" noises, even if they weren't serious.

IF (big if) it were true, UAL would probably overlook MIA.
"Why, MIA when can serve South America from NY?" (now Jersey). Sound familiar?
My glass half empty (and leaking) outlook says they'd rather continue to bludgeon ALPA and carve up the U side while slowly adding guppies to the CAL side. If they were to buy anything from AA it would probably be chunks of Eagle and some old 767-200's. They'd paint them, redo the interiors and FMS's, perform expensive D checks and then sell them at a huge loss. Anyone remember the expensive new boxes in the 737's that went in right before they parked them?
I give these guys zero credit. Zero. DAL continues to improve while we dick around with paint and el hefe's co-worker videos.

Spot on! Sad but true based on the past 10 years....

Having been through a CH11, and you guys having been through two, I think we need to remember that there are many people's lives and livelihoods that we are talking about so cavalierly here.

I find this thought amusing. When I was flying out of MIA in the early 90s(92-94), UAL was 2nd only to AA in MIA. They had LOTS of SA flying out of there. Then with what seemed hardly a wimpier, they reduced their presence in MIA to a handful of flights.

Righttttt, cause what we need now is to throw another over inflated egotistical pilot group into the mix cause were getting along so great right now and accomplishing so many things together.
When it comes to throwing pilot groups under the bus, you have us beat hands down.
